Conservative management usually involves intercostal tube drainage, dietary restriction, and total parenteral nutrition. Surgery is indicated when conservative management fails. We describe a young woman with idiopathic chylothorax who failed conservative therapy but refused surgery. We instilled intrapleural streptokinase, which improved her condition. |
