Summary:The statistic have shown that the breastfeeding initiation rate in Malaysia is high (90%) but most mother did not continue to breastfeed their child beyond the age of 4 months as recommended by who. One of the reasons that these mothers stopped breastfeeding is because they lack support from people around them specially their employers. Therefore. The objective for this workshop is to promote continuation of breastfeeding among working staffs of IIUM. Beside, to ensure staffs who are capable of planning their pumping schedule by understanding the key concepts of breastfeeding, knowing the correct way in handling and storing expressed breast milk, possessing the knowledge in terms of nutrition for nursing mothers, building a networking link among IIUM community breastfeeding mothers and knowing their rights to continue to breastfeed in their work place.
