Linguistics يُعدّ موضوع العلل في علم النحو أبرز الموضوعات اتصالاً بالأصول المنهجية للدرس النحوي، وأسبقها ظهورًا، وفيه تتجلى قدرات النحويين وأساليبهم في بحث الظواهر النحوية وتحليلها متأثرين بالمنهج الأصولي الذي نحا منحى عقليًّا في البحث عن العلل المرتبطة بالحقائق الكلية للشريعة والعقيدة، ولمّا نُوظر النحو بالمنطق استزاد النحويون من هذا المنهج الأصولي؛ بشقّيه الكلامي والفقهي، فصاغوا وفقه المنهج النحوي؛ ليضعوا نحوًا عقليًّا عربيًّا صِرفًا يُبيّن الأسباب العقلية للقواعد النحوية والأوضاع اللغوية وفق منهج يتفق وطبيعةَ منهجية التفكير الإسلامية، بعيدًا عن النحو العقلي المُجتلب، أي المنطق اليوناني، ومن خلال هذه الفكرة يُحاول الباحث إثبات براءة النحو العربي من التأثر بعلوم الأوائل. The subject of cause in grammar is considered to be the subject most connected to methodical principles of grammar study and the earliest subject to emerge, from which emerged the grammarians' capabilities and ways of studying and analyzing the phenomena of grammar. the grammarians were affected by the method of principles which followed an intellectual approach in looking for causes related to general facts concerning Islamic law and beliefs. when grammar was argued with logic, grammarians intensified this fundamentalist method both theologically and jurisprudentially; therefore they formed their grammatical method according to the fundamentalist method far from the logical method; as a result they formed a mere Arabic intellectual grammar which has been able to demonstrate intellectual causes for grammar rules and linguistic situations according to a method which suits the Islamic thinking method far away from foreign intellectual grammar, I.e. Greek logic.
