Evidence shows that trade tends to increase the availability of wage jobs for women, particularly in export sectors. But certain factors-such as discrimination, lower skills, and gender inequalities in access to resources-may impede women's ability to benefit from trade expansion. Some of these factors may be especially prevalent among female farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa. 2012-08-13T14:37:14Z 2012-08-13T14:37:14Z 2004-05 http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/2004/05/5177657/impact-international-trade-gender-equality http://hdl.handle.net/10986/11271 English PREM Notes; No. 86 CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo/ World Bank World Bank, Washington, DC Publications & Research :: Brief Publications & Research
