Results show that bigger households seem to benefit more from positive shocks, while single parent households or households headed by unmarried women are more affected by negative shocks than other households. Additionally, the authors reveal that poor households are more vulnerable than non‐poor to shocks, and that asset holding helps in smoothing the impact of shocks on consumption. 2013-12-06T15:55:36Z 2013-12-06T15:55:36Z 2013-06 http://hdl.handle.net/10986/16369 en_US CC BY 3.0 IGO http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo World Bank World Bank, Washington, DC Publications & Research :: Working Paper Publications & Research Africa Senegal
