Description
Summary:This study examines how improvements in the internal and external trade regimes, and the transport and trade facilitation systems can contribute to sustain rapid growth and attract foreign investment to win the race against the capital stock decline. Key recommendations are presented in a simple matrix format at the end of this summary for a quick overview. Some of the recommendations are already under implementation as part of the Policy Based Credit currently under preparation. The findings of the trade study have also led to Government interest in additional analytical work in selected areas (e.g., remittances and air transportation) that is currently ongoing.
