Description
Summary:‘Whatsapp’ application has been widely used among users around the world. However, in academic purposes, many people do not recognize its usage, especially in Malaysia. This study thus aims to investigate the relationship between four acceptance factors towards the acceptance & use of ‘Whatsapp’ application for academic purposes among practical students in Petronas Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn. Bhd. In this study, the researcher used four acceptance factors, which are performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating condition, as proposed in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. The study used questionnaire as the research instrument and were distributed to 70 practical students. The finding is then analysed and showed that effort expectancy and social influence are not related to the dependent variable. This study also concluded that facilitating condition is the most significant factor contributed to acceptance & use of ‘Whatsapp’ application for academic purposes among students.
