Summary:Being a Malaysian students has become an expensive affair. As we can see nowadays our economic conditions is not really good and lots of cost has been increasing. Therefore it will give pressure to the students where they need to consider lots of cost like tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses and others. This phenomenon will lead students to do part time job in order to get extra income. This research is to study on the effects of students’ engagement in part time job on academic performance in UiTM Melaka Kampus Bandaraya Melaka. This study aim on three effects that influence academic performance which are time management, personality development and emotional problem. Based on the literature reviews, hypothesis were established to investigate the relationship between effects of part time job and academic performance. A total of 330 questionnaires were distributed to Universiti Teknologi Mara Kampus Bandaraya Melaka students. The questionnaires consists of 38 items and were analysed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software.
